Step 1: The installation location is critical
Ensure the indoor unit is at least 6 inches below the ceiling, verify clearances from the manual, and test the wall's strength. Keep the inlet and outlet clear, install 10 ft away from TVs or radios, and place the outdoor unit away from walls with no plants within 3 ft.
Step 2: Handle the refrigerant pipes perfectly.
Use a bending tool to avoid damaging the pipes. If not available, bend slowly to prevent sharp bends that can lead to leaks.Any flaw in the handling of the refrigerant pipes may cause a refrigerant leak or reduced efficiency. Contact us if you need extra refrigerant.
Step 3: Bundle the line set correctly
The line set contains the refrigerant pipes, drain hose, and electrical wires. Ensure the line set is angled downward and the drain pipe points straight down to prevent leaks and allow proper liquid flow.
Step 4: Vacuum pump the refrigerant circuit
Mini-split AC absolutely needs vacuum pumping in order to perform efficiently and prevent refrigerant from reacting with air moisture and damaging the internal parts of the machine. With a vacuum pump and a micron gauge, the process does not take very long, but it is important to do it right.
Step 5: Ensure safe electrical connection
A safe and proper electrical connection is a crucial necessity for the installation. The voltage, power breaker protection, and wiring must correspond to the specifications of each model. A poor connection can quickly become a fire hazard.
